I do believe you forgot the second 'F'
ReplyDeleteFlotation equipment is required if operating for hire over water beyond the power off glide distance from shore.
The section for this is 91.205 which you may want to include for those filling out pre-solo exams...
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the Third "A" in ATOMATOFLAMES which is for Attitude Indicator
ReplyDeleteEric Bitting, the Attitude Indicator is not required under FAR Part 91.205., but flotation device is required is flying over water and beyond a power-off gliding distance from the shore and the other item missing here would be anti-collision lights. I remember this acronym similarly; ATOMATOFLAMERS. The additional "A" is for anti-collision lights, and the "R" is for raft/flotation device.
ReplyDeleteI'm new to full scale. I imagine you wouldn't need landing gear position with fixed gear? Also what is ELT. And what about attitude indicator?
ReplyDeleteAfter reading comments I find all I need to know is what ELT is.
ReplyDeleteBTW, great forum! Thank you!
